Expert in Robotic Prostatectomy Surgery Informs Size of Prostate May Indicate Severity of Prostate Cancer

According to a research team at the Vanderbilt University Medical Centre and the Vice Chairman of the Department of Urology and Chief of Robotics and Minimally Invasive Surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Centre, Dr. David Samadi, the size of prostate could indicate the severity of the prostate cancer found in patients.

ORNL Scientists Mentor Students for FIRST Robotic Competition

Scientists and engineers from Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) will mentor and assist students from eight schools for the FIRST Robotic competition, which invites science and engineering high school students. For the purpose of the competition, students make use of additive manufacturing to create components and systems for their robots.

First Robotic Surgery for Lung Cancer Treatment Performed at St. John’s Hospital

The first robotic surgery using the da Vinci Surgical System for the treatment of lung cancer and other non-malignant thoracic diseases was performed at the St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood. The surgery was performed by cardiothoracic surgeons of the hospital, David Joyce and Mathew Cooper.

Forum Energy Technology to Supply Six Perry XLX Generation 2 ROV Systems

Researchers Study Arm-Reaching Movements Using Robotic Arm

As per the experiments conducted by research teams in Colorado University (CU) subjects who were fitted with robotic arms, could achieve performance with lesser efforts with continued practice. For the purpose of the experiment, 15 subjects who were right handed were fitted with a robotic arm along with a handle similar to a joystick, which could control a cursor on the computer screen.
