Advanced Defense Technologies (ADTI) has announced that it is developing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle and Drone system technology for the military and commercial markets. Specific markets include law enforcement, terrorist threat prevention, domestic infrastructure defence, surveillance and border security.
The company expects that the Federal Aviation Authority will make the local airspace for commercial UAV and Drone operations accessible. It also anticipates that the latest developments in communication technology and data capacity such as collision and detection technology could be a major influencing factor for removing restrictions in airspace to encourage developers of Drone systems and UAV systems in this sector.
According to the CEO of ADTI, R.S.Tahim, the commercial UAV and Drone technology market will require sensor packages that can provide more free control, accommodate more sensitive intelligence, weigh less and accommodate reconnaissance and surveillance. The development of these technologies will extend to commercial markets that are potentially larger in size. The system design technology of the company has been developed under various SBIR programmes from governmental agencies such as NASA, DARPA, USAF, Army, MDA and NAVY. The company looks forward to playing a major role in the future in these commercially viable markets through the development of such technologies.
