As part of D & R Technology’s efforts to develop and research industrial robotics, Ecoland International has announced that it will form a Robotics Research Group (RRG).
RRG will endeavour to come up with the latest, state-of-the-art robotic solutions in partnership with industry experts in order to develop innovative services and products. The RRG team will handle the most challenging robotics and automation issues.
Though the market for robotics has been in existence for the past 30 years, there has been a substantial development in the last 10 years in terms of control levels, structure of costs and general functionality. Though a major chunk of robots are being developed for industrial purposes, other market segments such as personal robotic devices, healthcare, commercial and business are also emerging. Based on surveys conducted by various market researchers, the industrial robotics market alone is expected to grow by $3.6 billion by 2015. The automotive industry will continue to be the major contributor towards this development. On the other hand, increased use of robotics in other areas such as pharmaceutical, consumer goods, clean technology, food processing and handling will also be an important factor for the growth of the robotics industry.
The Japanese Robot Association states that personal robotics industry alone will be worth more than $50 billion by the year 2025. Robots are expected to create jobs in the fields of solar and wind power, advanced battery manufacturing and consumer electronics.
