Microscan, which specialises in developing barcode traceability solutions for the electronic industry, has announced that it will display its AutoVISION machine vision technology at the IPC APEX electronic exhibition and conference, which is to be held at the San Diego Convention Centre from February 28th to March 1st, 2012.
The AutoVISION machine vision product line comprises the Vision HAWK smart cameras and Vision MINI smart cameras, which make use of an intelligent software interface. The main focus behind the AutoVISION product line is to make the set up and operation of machine vision applications simple and at the same time provide an accurate tool for inspection and identification. In particular, the new product line will display its lighting and barcode technology, which allows electronic manufacturers to trace their parts and final products from the initial stage to the final stage, automate inspection of their products and enhance the speed of line changeover.
Apart from having the ability to read Data Matrix codes and barcodes AutoVISION can automate inspection tasks, text reading and verification of components so that electronic manufacturers can reduce their scrap and increase their output. The range of imagers provided by Microscan have the capacity to read 2D barcode formats from capacitors, photovoltaics and circuit boards.
