Team Ubotic is a 17-member squad of young roboticists representing the Union High School. They have been working 8 hours every day, confident about qualifying for the international FIRST robotics competition with their robot “Ubot”.
Sprockets, the robotics team representing Diamond Bar High School in the FIRST robotic competition, have developed a robot for the competition. Over 6 weeks, the team received several sponsors and raised $19,000.
The FIRST Robotics Team from Pitt County revealed their robot in South Central High School's library. With team members from each of the six high schools in the county, the students worked incessantly on a robot with the parts and set of rules delivered to them.
The Penfield High School was the venue for the Rochester Rally, an annual pre-competition event for the robotics team. A corporate team mentor for “Rolling Thunder”, Lee Drake describes it as an annual event for students to test-drive their robots for the 20th annual international competition.
Sponsored by a mortuary when they began their quest in robotics, the team at Vallejo High School has created a monster which took over 6 weeks. Their latest creation, a clawed 5-ft high robot, can grow up to 10-ft using its extendable arms. The monster is also capable of carrying a smaller robot which can climb a 10-ft long pole.
The Strategic Air and Space Museum near Ashland brought together over 800 students from all over Iowa and Nebraska for the Nebraska Robotics Expo. The teams were required to develop a robot which was capable of performing tasks in front of the judges.
Potomac School students built a Lego Robot with Lego Mindstorms pieces. Roberta, capable of fixing a damaged heart, casting a broken bone, destroying bad blood cells and distributing medicines, however did not qualify for the First Lego League robot-building competition’s Maryland state championship. Roberta was the first attempt for the group of under-13 girls.
Greatly influenced by carnivorous plants, designers Jimmy Loizeau and James Auger have unveiled the prototype of a carnivorous furniture, the first of its kind.
The robotics team at Woodlawn High School, Panthrobotics, hopes to compete with more than 2,000 teams across the country in the NASA F.R.C. Robotics Championship.
Hereford high school students joined hands with the students of Hereford middle school robotics club and demonstrated their robots at the Community Night on February, 24, 2011.
