Hereford high school students joined hands with the students of Hereford middle school robotics club and demonstrated their robots at the Community Night on February, 24, 2011. Both the clubs have students who took part in the Vex Robotics competitions.

The students wanted to convince other Hereford students to participate in robotic competitions and compete against them.

The  Vex Robotics contests include the one held at Chesapeake High School on February 26, 2011 and the other at Westminster on March 5, 2011.

The Hereford middle school club consists of 16 students, who meet the high school club's 30 member team on thursday afternoons to practice for various robotic competitions. Both the clubs will be participating in the Vex Robotics competitions 2010-11. The playing field at the competition is a 12-by-12-foot square.

During the competition, teams are expected to build remote-controlled robots that can perform tasks like picking plastic rings and placing them on poles. Teams will receive bonus points if they design a robot that will race up a ladder. The high school has a playing field that proves useful for practice before the competition.
