Schneider Packaging Equipment Co has launched Robotic Accumulator Loader (RAL) Case Packer for multifarious packing procedures to increase its overall reliability. This robotic system is ideal for packing uniquely designed products like narrow products, vacuum formed trays and other odd shaped items.
RAL comprises three FANUC robotic arms to create tight nested pack designs for differently shaped items, facilitating package of several products within the same volume. It offers greater reliability by bringing down the packing material consumption and transportation necessities.
The two significant areas of performance include a pick and place area and a packing area. The pick and place station features two robotic arms for handling products which are oriented either in a vertical or upturned position, into a collection area. The robots interchange contrasting operations thereby reducing idle time between movements. If required, the robots exchange products among them for developing tight grouping patterns. In the packing area, one of the robotic arms swaps between inserting layer pads if required and a finished row of interconnected trays is placed in the case. This robot can overturn or tilt the nested trays to offer a nested pack pattern.
Terry Zarnowski, Director of Sales and Marketing, Schneider Packaging Equipment has stated that the traditional method for this class of case packing would demand a bulk device with several complex procedures for product orientation. He added that industries with minimum available space and tough case packing demands have identified the significance of robotics which can effectively replace the traditional procedures. He also mentioned that the adaptability of RAL facilitates quick exchange between various types of products.
