Enventure Technology Solutions has been awarded a contract for sourcing alternate components for single source parts and other high risk parts by a leading industrial robots and modular manufacturer.
Enventure would have to work on identifying the Form, Fit and Function equivalent substitute parts. The company is actively involved in providing obsolescence management services; the new contract is part of the services they provide.
Obsolescence Management is concerned with checking the current stage that the component is in its lifecycle and providing alternate solutions. A part that is identified as being at the end of its life is not recommended for new designs. Enventure provides alternate components to such obsolete parts, which perform the same function or function in a similar manner. Their services have benefitted many companies in keeping a check on the status of all their components and go in for replacements at the right time.
In this particular contract from the robotic company, Enventure would need to provide obsolescence management services for all the components, thereby, mitigating the risk of the parts becoming obsolete. Timely action through the management system would go a long way in preventing manufacturing and engineering processes to run into problems. A spokesperson for the company explained that the new contract was a challenging environment for applying the Obsolescence Management System as they have numerous components that have long life cycles. By providing substitute parts, Enventure would be providing timely identification of components nearing obsolescence and provide suitable alternate parts to ensure high product life cycles.
