Delta Group, a global leader in power and thermal management solutions, today invites International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) attendees to join it on the journey to smart manufacturing. At booth E-4338, visitors will see first-hand how Delta's robust line of automation products are used in advanced machine automation, spindle control and robotic cell to produce smart manufacturing system solutions for the machine tool, metal forming, packaging, food & beverage, automated assembly, material handling, oil & gas, and elevator & crane industries. Hands-on floor units will also be available for demos to those traveling with "Delta Passports."
To advance your smart manufacturing journey, download your "Delta Passport" for free here. With a Delta Passport, attendees will have access to the following:
VFD Spindle Control Demo: Featuring the Newest MH300/MS300 Series Compact Drives
Attendees will see Delta's newest MH300/MS300 series high-performance standard compact AC Motor Drives for Micro Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) applications up to 30 horsepower. Serving as a compliment to the C2000 series General Purpose vector control drives, the MS300 and MH300 provide clear performance, size, feature, and cost advantages over similar systems on the market.
This demo will showcase the MH300/MS300 series controlling four of the most popular spindles on the market - up to 2,000 Hz. This enabling technology solution includes complete demonstration of E-Stop and a fast deceleration feature with reduced regeneration energy. The entire demo is sequenced by one of the MH300/MS300 built-in PLC's to highlight its stand-alone control and local I/O capability and is easily connected with Ethernet Modbus and EtherNet/IP.
Advanced Machine Automation Demo
This demo highlights the ability to completely control a machine over EtherCAT and Information connectivity over EtherNet/IP. Attendees will see how a scaled down lean-control system can execute G-Code to do simple shape cutting applications completely with core smart functions. They will also have the opportunity to test drive Delta's ISPsoft IEC 61131-3 compliant software for integrated motion and logic.
The Advanced Machine Automation Demo will also show how Delta Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is ready through drop-in cloud connectivity devices on 3G wireless; secure VPN tunneling & log-on data encryption; HMI's with dual Ethernet ports to segregate control and remote data access networks; PLCs with local data acquisition & powerful information computation; fieldbus data link and conversion; and time stamping.
Robotic Cell Demo
Also on display will be Delta's 4-axis control with integrated servo drives on a 400mm SCARA robot, DRS40L series, in a simulated dispensing application. Additionally, it controls one networked external actuator. The robot "dispensing" head dynamically tracks the LU series actuator by dispensing a constant vector path pattern while in motion. The move profiles can be configured and taught through a Hand-held pendent complete with e-stop and 3-position safety switches. This complete cell is remotely monitored at the Industrial Ethernet display panel via a 3G cloud-connected router.
"As a leading contributor to the advancement of the global manufacturing industry, Delta is constantly developing new product technology to create architecture level solutions for industrial machinery," said Bill Faber, Director of Delta Products Corporation's Industrial Automation Business Group. "Our IIoT-ready offerings are designed to help manufactures at all stages of the smart manufacturing journey propel themselves and their companies into a new era of connectivity and efficiency."
