Advantech Industrial Automation Group has launched EKI-1221D and EKI-1222D, the latest Modbus Gateways with integrated Ethernet switches.
These gateways offer transparent linking between Ethernet based Modbus/TCP device and Modbus serial devices like ASCII and RTU. They are able to meet various requirements like flexible installation and web browser configuration for several remote monitoring applications.
The integrated Ethernet switches offer cascading and daisy-chain connectivity for adaptable wiring. In addition cascading linking enables Ethernet auto-bypass to avoid sudden power shut down due to power failure in either of the Modbus Gateways. The web-based configuration and Windows utilities of the Modbus gateways facilitate easy set up.
One of the Ethernet ports can be linked to the network and the other can be connected to another EKI-1221D/1222D or Ethernet device. This feature offers a quicker and low-cost method of adding remote management and data retrieval features to several devices which cannot be linked to a network.
The Modbus gateways offer speed up to 921k bauds. They can accomplish any master and slave relationship. 16 TCP masters and 16 TCP slaves are supported by the gateways and every serial port can accommodate a maximum of 31 RTU/ASCII slave devices.
The gateways assure consistent performance by means of an incorporated dual power inputs along with a power fail relay output for power operation status identification. They feature IP30 metal housings, DIN-rail mount form factors and Class I Division 2 certification for coping with tough environment.
