US Army Showcases Robots and Other Equipment at All-American Bowl

At the Army All-American Bowl week, the US Army Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM) will showcase the ‘Army Strength Through Technology’. The event will be held between January 6 and 9, 2011 in San Antonio.

The Bowl will feature a selection of robots displayed by the US Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center. The visitors can operate the robots. In addition, TARDEC, a leading defense company that develops ground robotics, will showcase a fleet or robots that can be negotiated by visitors through a course with obstacles.

The US Army will also demonstrate the RAVEN, an advanced unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), along with some more of such vehicles. The RAVEN UAV offers aerial surveillance and reconnaissance of the battlefield. The rucksack portable, and self-contained UAV is being used by the US Army since 2006.

All the displays from RDECOM labs and centers will be shown at the Army Technology Zone, which is a part of the Army Strong Zone. The Army Strong Zone will provide a closer look at the US Army’s soldiers and equipment, to the civic organizations, school groups and other visitors.
