Epson has launched a new range of six-axis S5 industrial robots. The vertically articulated S5 series includes S5 and S5L models. They include features of the traditional PS series of six-axis vertically articulated robots, which are based on Epson’s original Smart Motion Control technology.
This package offers an exceptional and unremitting path control and enables high-speed with minimum vibration.
The S5 series are developed for quick and precise congregation of compact components. The compact layout enables the robot to occupy minimum space. Major features and benefits of the S5 family include enhanced dexterity, repeatability of +/-0.02 mm (S5), high throughput, improved movement range, small J3 arm (elbow) area measuring half the size of PS series robots and larger operating space area, which is 1.7 times bigger than that of the PS series robots. The movement range of J5 axis is 10% broader than its forerunners, with a pitch wrist of +/-135°.
The S5 robots can accommodate a broad range of installation conditions. They can be availed in various specifications including standard, clean room (ISO4 compliant) and improved protection against water and dust (as per IP65). These robots need an average electrical power of 1 KVA via a 230V single phase power line, enabling their clients to reduce energy cost and ownership cost overheads.
