Barrett Technology, a designer and manufacturer of advanced robotic manipulators, has entered into a strategic partnership with Leeman China, a supplier of mobile platforms. The partnership will cover China and Hong Kong.
Leeman China has provided sales and service of sophisticated technical systems to diverse market segments for over 20 years. The systems include robotic systems, spectrometers and reactors for segments such as pharmaceuticals, oil, gas, environmental management and metals. In China, Leeman has placed around 250 mobile robotic platforms. The company’s clientele includes corporations, government agencies and university research laboratories. Leeman employs more than 80 people and has regional offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Shenyang and Guangzhou.
Linyu Huang, president of Leeman, has said that the strategic agreement with Barrett would allow customers to acquire fully integrated systems for mobile-manipulation applications from a single source. The company would also facilitate upgrades for customers requiring mobile-manipulation applications for the existing mobile platforms. Leeman robotics division’s product manager, Wei Wang, added that Barrett’s products were superior to other robotic manipulators available in the market.
Barrett Technology’s CEO, Bill Townsend, stated that the strategic partnership would help the company discover new applications and uses for intelligent robotics.
