Honda's ASIMO Robot Arrives in Canada

Honda's advanced humanoid robot, ASIMO, has reached Canada for the first time ever since year 2007. Designed to assist people with mobility issues, ASIMO is the result of over 20 years of research conducted by experts at Honda.

The President and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Canada, Takashi Sekiguchi, stated that ASIMO was designed to be of aid disabled people. The first version of ASIMO was released way back in 2000. He also added that the latest version of ASIMO has several advanced features.

ASIMO stands for Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility. This lightweight and compact humanoid robot measures 130cm in height. It offers an expansive range of arm motion, simple operation and a human-friendly design. The robot utilizes a flexible running and walking technology.

ASIMO has demonstrated its unique abilities to several contestants of FIRST Robotics Canada and FIRST Lego League. There was also a performance by ASIMO for students across Ontario before ASIMO was demonstrated openly to the public.
