ASIMO, the most advanced automation robot developed by the engineers of Honda, has reached Canada for its first visit after 2007. Honda will exhibit its ASIMO in Toronto and in Gatineau to explain the humanoid robotics technology.
ASIMO (Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility) was designed to support people with mobility problems. The latest, ASIMO has superior flexible running and walking technology, widely extended arm movement and easy operation. It is lightweight and the height of the humanoid robot is 130 centimeters. ASIMO is designed to be friendly with people.
ASIMO has started its Canadian tour from the Ontario Science Centre. ASIMO was exhibited on May 13 to FIRST Robotics Canada and FIRST Lego League competitors and on May 14, ASIMO was demonstrated to the public. On Monday, May 16, ASIMO was demonstrated for the Honorable Sandra Pupatello, Ontario's Minister of Economic Development and Trade and the public.
From Toronto, ASIMO l visited Gatineau in Quebec on Thursday, May 19, to participate in an exhibition, called "JAPAN: Tradition, Innovation," at the Canadian Museum of Civilization. From May 20 to May 22, ASIMO carried out public presentations at the museum.
