Milara, developer of wafer-handling robots, has declared that it has purchased a new building measuring 50,000 square feet at 49 Maple St, Milford. This acquirement will enable the company to expand its robotics operations.
Steve Brodeur, Project Director, has stated that their facility in Medway got so overcrowded that the management acquired a new building in Milford. He mentioned that their company also develops robots for several biotechnological applications and these robots can shift culture trays between testing devices. He stated that they have made an agreement with the Army for supplying the Talon robot series. He concluded that they also develop semi and fully automated inline printers.
Anthony DeLuca, Building Commissioner, has mentioned that the new facility in Milford was previously occupied by Chase Paper.
Milara has planned to include a clean room in the new building for manufacturing semiconductor and wafer robot handlers. The company will also recruit new employees for its new site. It was reported that Milara’s wafer-handling and robotics divisions will be shifted to the new building in another few weeks and the printer division will be moved after mid-April.
