The Foundation to Inspire Excellence in Nyack Schools (Inspire Nyack) has offered a donation worth $40,000 to Nyack schools for conducting robotics program. The foundation already offered $110,000 worth donation to Nyack Schools.
Michael Leifer, President of Inspire Nyack, has stated that their robotics program enables students to develop interest in math, technology and science. He added that the program covers more than 400 middle school children and 600 elementary schoolers.
Robotics is included in the 8th grade curriculum of the Nyack Schools. The middle school features a robotics club. Inspire Nyack sponsors students for participating in contests. Members of the Inspire Nyack Board of Directors include Michael Lagana, President of Nyack Schools’ Board of Education and Trustee Dan Juechter.
On Thomas Alva Edison’s birthday, which falls on February 11, the foundation will organize ‘Inspire Nyack Day’ in the elementary schools. Several events like innovative and communicative assembly highlighting on gas and electricity and a Super Science assembly investigating the gravitational force and sound will be part of the celebration.
The fourth annual Casino Night of the Inspire Nyack foundation will be conducted at the Nyack Seaport on March 5. All the earnings from the event will be donated for several educational enhancement programs in the Nyack School District.
