The organizers of Commercial UAV Expo Europe, the pan-European exhibition and conference focused on UAS integration and operation for large enterprise industrial applications, announced that the 2018 event will be held 10-12 June 2018 at the RAI Amsterdam in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
The inaugural edition of Commercial UAV Expo Europe took place 20-22 June 2017 at the SQUARE Brussels Exhibition Centre in Brussels, Belgium and was enormously successful, with more than 500 attendees from 50 countries and 52 exhibiting companies. Taking place at the event was the European drone cluster EUKA's Drone Hero Contest, which recognized outstanding innovation in the drone space.
Lisa Murray, Director of Commercial UAV Expo Europe, shared that 95% of attendees and 100% of exhibitors surveyed at the 2017 event said there is a need for a Pan-European commercial UAV event. In fact, 75% of exhibitors at the 2017 event booked space for the 2018 during the 2017 edition. "There are numerous small country-wide events, but not before Commercial UAV Expo Europe was there a pan-European event that brought together the commercial drone ecosystem from throughout Europe to advance this ground-breaking technology. We are proud to have brought this event to Europe and excited to now hold it in Amsterdam. The city is easily accessible from throughout Europe and the RAI Amsterdam is known globally as an excellent facility. The move to a larger facility and the date shift to April make sense for this event and the industry." She expressed gratitude to the SQUARE Brussels Meeting Centre and the City of Brussels for their cooperation during the event's launch year.
The European event is similar in format to its sister show, Commercial UAV Expo Americas, which is taking place for the third year October 24-26, 2017 in Las Vegas, USA. "We've seen exponential growth at our Americas event, which will reach 2,500 attendees and 200 booths this year," said Ms. Murray. "We expect the European event to follow a similar growth trajectory. We're pleased to be viewed as a resource globally for solutions providers to showcase their technology, as well as for users to discover that technology and get vital education that will put them on path to success."
The 2018 European event will again feature an education program with vertical market tracks in which industry experts share best practices, case studies and challenges. Keynotes and plenary sessions will focus on universal themes including systems selection, workflow integration, legal considerations, regulatory issues, harmonization of standards and more. Global technology innovators representing growth segments for drone use will gain critical insights from fellow users as well as hear from drone experts about the road ahead for UAV/UAS integration in Europe.
