Health Robotics has declared the official inauguration and live functioning of the world’s biggest Sterile Compounding Center for Oncology patients.
About 90% of Akdeniz University Hospital’s 80.000 annual chemotherapy intravenous doses or on an average around 325 patient doses per 6-hour work cycle are compounded using the appropriate technology of Health Robotics and four CytoCare robots. The hospital’s Oncology Pharmacy is jointly managed by Akdeniz hospital staff as well as Rivosem, partner of Health Robotics in Central Asia and Turkey.
Hilmi Sunay, Executive Vice President of Rivosem, has stated that they have widened their experience in installing CytoCare multi-robots with the help of Akdeniz University Hospital. He added that all doses of chemotherapy are delivered to patients in branded, light-secured and gentle plastic IV bags of sizes 0.25, 0.5, and 1 L. He mentioned that all the IV bags are verified using gravimetric control and vision technology, assuring that all patients receive their appropriate quantity of medication at correct time.
According to Gaspar DeViedma, Executive Vice President of Health Robotics, Turkey has become a dominant regional Oncology Therapy Robotics market. He mentioned that they have obtained extensive support from Rivosem and Turkish Government in developing and sponsoring pay-per-dose methods for Cytocare robot. This has enabled hospitals in Turkey to deploy their superior Oncology Pharmacy Robotics platform for the security of both clinicians and patients.
