Shelby Township, MI / Las Vegas, NV – KUKA Robotics will exhibit among 1,800+ world-class industry suppliers at PackExpo Las Vegas in booth C-5208. Pack Expo is North America’s largest packaging and processing show.
KUKA Robotics will debut the KR AGILUS HM to the North American Market at PackExpo 2015. Join us in booth C-5208 and experience the newest addition to the KR AGILUS family with the JoeBot, an attendees’ personal barista. The KR AGILUS HM (Hygienic Machine) meets industry requirements for both food and pharmaceuticals. This small robot emphasizes the importance of a hygienic design with a higher protection rating IP 67.
The KR AGILUS HM has corrosion-resistant surfaces to prevent build-up of sensitive materials while even being used in temperature ranges between 0°C to 40°C. Offering a payload range of 6kg to 10kg with a reach of 700mm to 1,100mm, the KR AGILUS HM adds new potential to the KR AGILUS family.
Hands on demonstration with LBR iiwa
Attendees will have the opportunity to see a hands-on demonstration to experience the new LBR iiwa. The lightweight LBR iiwa (Intelligent Industrial Work Assistant) robot is the first series-produced sensitive robot suitable for human-robot collaborations. It acts as the “third hand” of the operator working directly with humans without safety fencing. The LBR iiwa has sensitive torque sensors in all 7 axes, providing the robot with contact detection capabilities and programmable compliance. The repeatability of the LBR iiwa is ±0.1mm making it possible to automate delicate and complex tasks in which the use of robots was previously inconceivable.
Suitable until -30°C - the KR QUANTEC PA arctic
The KR 180 R3200 PA robot will be on display for attendees to get up close and personal with KUKA’s KR QUANTEC PA arctic Series of Palletizing Robots. No suits, bags or heaters are needed for the KR QUANTEC PA arctic series to endure temperatures as low as -30°. The KR QUANTEC PA arctic Series is an ideal fit for all kinds of frigid lifting in the Refrigerated, Frozen Food and Beverage markets with availability in 3 payloads of 120kg, 180kg, and 240kg with a reach of 3,195mm.
Robots, Wine and Cheese at the KUKA booth
Monday September 28th from 1:30 – 4:30pm, KUKA Robotics will be hosting Robots, Wine and Cheese. This in-booth reception will offer unique one-on-one time for customers to interact with KUKA packaging experts. Those attending the reception will also have the opportunity to experience the booth demonstrations in more depth.
A packing demonstration of poker chips will feature the KUKA KR AGILUS waterproof robot: KR 6 R900 WP C. Part of the KR AGILUS family, the KR 6 R900 WP C will select 3 poker chips at a time with a vacuum end of arm tooling and place them into a box. This waterproof robot is built with resistant surface treatments and additional seals to comply with the higher protection rating IP 67 while delivering high speeds, short cycle times, and an integrated energy supply system.
In a robotic solution created and provided by Official KUKA Robotics System Partner BW Container Systems will showcase a Robotic Full Bottle Pick & Place system. A KUKA KR 16 robot equipped with a Joulin end of arm vacuum assembly will select filled bottles from the AdaptA MB system and place them into a tray. This technology can be used for case packing, large container bulk palletizing or removal of select containers for inspection.
The system can be designed to handle many types and sizes as well as combinations of products within cases allowing for mixed or “rainbow” packages. The AdaptA MB system creates a mixed pallet using mxAutomation. mxAutomation is a software package from KUKA Robotics that allows full control of KUKA robot motion via an external PLC that communicates with the KR C4 robot controller.
