SLAS 2015: Hudson Robotics Introduces Self-Calibrating PlateCrane SciClops™ for Laboratory Robotics

Hudson Robotics, Inc introduced the new PlateCrane SciClops™ , at last week's SLAS 2015 Conference.  It is a product so revolutionary that it will change the world of laboratory robotics.

The PlateCrane SciClops™ teaches itself, unlike other benchtop robot systems.  It completely eliminates the problem of mishandled microplates from inaccurately calibrated machines. By automatically aligning the robot workcell with every instrument in its workcell (which takes less than one minute per instrument), the SciClops™ allows for a hands-free experience. The SciClops™ handles microplates, reservoirs, disposable tip racks and other common labware.

Hudson Robotics, Inc now provides a product that is not only flexible enough for any plate-handling task, but also cost-effective and easy to use.  Any lab technician can set it up with the same results as a skilled robotics engineer.

SciClops' features include a Plug-and-Play USB computer interface, automated plate handling with over 200 instruments, and a random access stacker option for real-time incubation and kinetic assays.  It is offered with SoftLinx V Scheduling software (a drag and drop protocol developer).  Its size allows it to fit into a standard laboratory safety hood. By using integrated vision teaching, a 40% larger work envelope and unlimited rotation, the PlateCrane SciClops™ will change the way researchers view laboratory robots.
