Hansen Medical, Inc., a global leader in Intravascular Robotics, today announced it will present its Magellan™ Robotic System and its new 6Fr Robotic Catheter at the Society of Interventional Radiology's (SIR) Annual Scientific Meeting from March 23 - 27 at the San Diego Convention Center. The Company will be conducting product demonstrations and exhibiting the Magellan Robotic System at Booth 800.
Hansen Medical will also be sponsoring a dinner symposium during the meeting at 6:30pm on Tuesday, March 25, titled "Clinical Experiences with the Magellan Robotic System". Dr. Barry Katzen, M.D. and Dr. Constantino Peña, M.D., both from Baptist Cardiac and Vascular Institute in Miami, FL, will share their experiences with the Magellan Robotic System in a wide variety of endovascular procedures. They will also discuss the new Magellan™ 6Fr Robotic Catheter and its potential to expand the role of Intravascular Robotics to include peripheral vascular procedures in smaller vessels.
Additionally, the Magellan Robotic System will be featured in the New Product Showcase, an area of the Exhibit Hall designed to highlight important new innovations with the potential to significantly impact the field of Interventional Radiology.
"The SIR Meeting is one of the year's premier, global Interventional Radiology conferences," said Chris Lowe, Interim CEO of Hansen Medical. "With the recent FDA 510(k) clearance for our Magellan 6Fr Catheter, we will be expanding the clinical applications for Intravascular Robotics to include procedures in smaller diameter vessels, many of which are performed by Interventional Radiologists. We are excited for the opportunity to showcase our Magellan System and the new catheter in this forum."
