Over 3,000 Total Knee Replacements Performed in the US Using OMNI's Surgical Navigation System

OMNIlife science, Inc., an established medical technology company targeting the $13 billion and rapidly growing global hip and knee replacement medical device sector, announces the successful completion of more than 3,000 total knee replacements in the United States using OMNI's surgical navigation system. The technology at the core of this system is the company's APEX Robotic Technology ("A.R.T.™").

A.R.T.™ uses a robotic cutting guide that supports the surgeon's ability to make more accurate bone cuts and optimize the position of the implant versus conventional surgical navigation techniques. The A.R.T.™ system utilizes a patented BoneMorphing® technology to create a virtual 3D model of each patient's unique anatomy without preoperative CT or MRI imaging, enabling precise positioning of the robotic cutting guide. A.R.T.™ addresses the key issues associated with earlier-generation navigation systems, serving the needs of a large and growing population suffering from knee pain due to osteoarthritis.

Most robotic technologies being used today for knee resurfacing procedures are only offered for uni-compartmental, or partial knee replacement. OMNI's A.R.T.™ system is specifically designed for total knee replacement, providing the precision of a robot on even the most significant knee joint deformities. This has uniquely positioned OMNI as a leader in robotic total knee replacement.

Dr. Leonid Dabuzhsky, a physician at Quincy Medical Center in Massachusetts, who has been utilizing A.R.T.™ for his total knee replacement patients for almost two years stated, "After using a conventional navigation system for over six years for my total knee replacement procedures, I moved to a robot-assisted procedure using A.R.T.™. As much as conventional navigation improved the accuracy of my surgeries previously, it does not even come close to the level of precision I can achieve using A.R.T.™"

CEO George Cipolletti states, "There are several advantages that differentiate OMNI in the robotic knee replacement sector, but the most important finding is that we are exceeding patients' expectations. In addition, the implants used with the A.R.T.™ procedure are designed and developed using the input of our independent, forward-thinking customers. This means the hospital, surgeon and patient benefit from a superior procedure as well as a superior product."
