Icron’s USB 3.0 Spectra 3022 Extender Systems to be Distributed by Rochester Imaging and Soda Vision

Icron Technologies Corporation, a leader in USB and video extension technology, is pleased to announce that Rochester Imaging Technology Corporation, a North American distributor of imaging system solutions based in Rochester, New York and Denver, Colorado, and Soda Vision Pte Ltd., a supplier of top class machine vision components headquartered in Singapore, with additional offices in Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines, are enhancing their machine vision product portfolios by offering Icron’s USB 3.0 Spectra™ 3022 extender systems.

These new distribution agreements broaden the industrial vision market availability of Icron’s USB 3.0 camera extension solution within North America and South East Asia.

“As imaging and machine vision specialists, we at Rochester Imaging serve a broad range of emerging industrial camera applications,” said David Frosini, co-founder and President of Rochester Imaging Technology. “As a new camera interface, USB 3.0 offers tremendous benefits in resolution, frame rate and cost, but is limited by cable distance. Icron’s Spectra 3022 solves this problem by extending the full performance operation of these cameras up to 100 meters. I’m very pleased to make this and Icron’s other extension solutions available to my customers.”

“At Soda Vision, we are results-driven and pride ourselves in providing the ideal vision solution for our customers,” stated Chin Jack, Engineering Manager at Soda Vision. “Icron’s USB 3.0 extension technology enables us in providing our customers a competitive market advantage.”

Icron’s Spectra 3022 enables USB 3.0 connections of 5Gbps up to 100 meters over OM3 fiber optic cabling. With two locking USB 3.0 ports, the Spectra 3022 is designed to be in compliance with the Automated Imaging Association’s (AIA) USB3 Vision™ standard and includes Icron’s ExtremeUSB® suite of features such as working with all major operating systems without the need for software drivers.

“We are very pleased with the addition of both Rochester Imaging and Soda Vision; both are knowledgeable distribution partners in the machine vision space,” said Glenn Antonelli, Icron’s Vice President of Marketing. “With features such as high video quality, throughput and affordability, it is very important that distance is not a limiting factor in the adoption of USB 3.0 cameras. Icron’s Spectra 3022 extender will help ensure USB 3.0’s popularity as a camera interface.”
