By means of its own unique technology, THK Co., Ltd. (THK) (http://www.thk.com/?bw20130509) (TOKYO:6481) developed the capacity for rolling linear motion for machine parts—previously believed insurmountably difficult—and upon launching the Linear Motion Guide (or LM Guide) in 1972 became the first company in the world to develop this as a commercial product.
Development of this rolling linear motion for machine parts has advanced the precision, speed, and labor-saving capabilities of mechatronics equipment, dramatically improving machine performance.
Attaching the LM Guide developed by THK to machine tools and industrial robots enables ultra-precise work; for semiconductor manufacturing equipment too, it achieves precision right down to the sub-micron level. In recent years, the practical applications of this LM Guide technology have seemed limitless, including LCD production lines, railway vehicles, welfare-purpose vehicles, medical equipment, high-rise buildings and housing, amusement equipment, and much more.
At this time, THK wishes to announce its first ever participation as an exhibitor at the International Metalworking Technology & Machine Tools Exhibition and Conference (MTT) to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from 22 to 25 May this year. In 2006, THK established its sales subsidiary THK LM System Pte. Ltd., which has continued to effectively strengthen its sales throughout the Southeast Asian region. At MTT, THK will exhibit its LM Guide flagship product and ball screws as well as various machine components such as ball bushings and cam followers used for all kinds of manufacturing equipment and devices. THK will also exhibit operational demonstration units of the Electric Actuators as essential parts for factory automation.
