Kratos' Firejet Target Drone Supports Patriot Weapon System Live Fire Exercises

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc., a leading National Security Solutions provider, announced today that its subsidiary, Composite Engineering Inc. (CEI), successfully supported Patriot Weapon System live fire exercises for the Hellenic Air Defense Forces on November 17, 2012 at the NATO Missile Firing Installation (NAMFI) located on the Greek island of Crete.

Utilizing Kratos' internationally deployed Firejet aerial target drone system, designed and produced by CEI, the Kratos team provided an incoming aerial target flight, which represented a certain advanced threat against the Joint Forces.

During the operations, Kratos' Firejet target drone, which flew a specific and predetermined flight sequence consistent with a certain threat representation, was successfully tracked, engaged and fired upon by a Patriot Weapon System. In a letter of appreciation received by Kratos CEI and their local partner, ALTUS LSA, the NAMFI Commander said that "perfect cooperation and communication was achieved between all involved parties, a fact that illustrated that the companies CEI and ALTUS LSA are manned with highly trained and competent personnel and also the service provision on their behalf are of high standards."

The Firejet target system is the third in a series of advanced high speed aerial target drone systems exclusively designed and manufactured by Kratos' CEI. Already a provider of high performance aerial target drones to the United States Air Force and United States Navy, CEI routinely supports worldwide missile firing exercises with its suite of aerial target systems.

Richard Selvaggio, President of Kratos' Unmanned Systems Solution Division, said, "I am extremely proud of our CEI team and our FireJet aerial target drone systems performance in providing advanced threat representations in support of some of the world's most advanced air and missile defense systems at one the world's premier missile firing ranges. Kratos' FireJet System is a key element in our strategy to be the premier global provider of aerial targets, which represent some of the the most lethal threats facing the United States and our Allies Armed Forces throughout the world. Kratos Target Systems, including Kratos Aegis Readiness Assessment Vehicle (ARAV), are supporting many of the most advanced air and ballistic missile defense systems deployed today."
