LoadWorld serves to be a versatile, pre-engineered standard robot solution for machine tending, and compatible of being incorporated within new or existing machines.
It can be adopted for job shops with smaller lot sizes or in bulk-production. These flexible cells feature a Motoman robot, and components like pallet floor locators, standard grippers, part positioners, conveyors, part cleaners and markers. LoadWorld has been engineered to operate a broad range of Motoman robots having payloads from 20-200 kg, with the unique 7-axis SIA20D.
Minimal loading/unloading time makes robotic automation of the machining process lucrative. More parts are being manufactured within short duration owing to better spindle utilization. LoadWorld is capable of creating parts even while off-shift periods or breaks. Consistent loading/unloading process improves part quality. Better worker safety can be achieved with LoadWorld as it minimizes lifting and repetitive motion injuries.
LoadWorld consists of a four drawer fabricated steel part stocker. Using multiple drawers, operators can easily and effectively load and unload parts from one drawer while having the operation of robot on another. Four drawers ensure versatility to operate the same part, with configuration option for each drawer based on different part. The drawers can be equipped with tooling, or can be adopted with MotoSight 2D vision system for flexible and affordable operation.
Based on Cognex EasyBuilder vision programming tools, MotoSight 2D can augment vision to a Motoman robot. Cognex In-Sight Micro camera and Yaskawa Motoman’s Pendant Vision application software are also present. MotoSight-based machine tending application extends flexibility to bring down tooling cost by deploying vision for identifying the parts or to execute quality control functions.
During IMTS 2012, a LoadWorld system will be incorporated with new Robotiq 2-Finger Adaptive Gripper for high flexibility. The gripper complemented with technologies can enable automation and low costs when used in high-mix, low-volume machine shop.
