A robotics software company, 5D Robotics was honored with several acclamations during the 2012 Robotics Rodeo in Fort Benning, Georgia. Sponsored by the Joint IED Defeat Organization (JIEDDO), the event welcomed a large number of attendees and experts such as military leaders and international press, as well as robot geeks and engineers. Up-to-the-minute innovative and unmanned ground systems were displayed at the event.
5D Robotics collaborated with Segway, DRS, Mesa Technologies, AMREL, Bokam, RE2, and MacroUSA for demonstrating that robots, which are capable of lifting gear and working in sync, is all set for primetime. The Robot Rodeo awards featured third place mounted for Mesa, ACER (8.19 km/hr), and third place portable for MacroUSA, Scorpion (5.52 km/hr), and second place dismounted for DRS, adaptive mission payload (7.82 km/hr).
Government and military officials are consistently exploring ways to improve and implement safety among soldiers, and increasing the deployment of robots to accomplish more tasks. Inspired by this, 5D Robotics focused on the advancement in robotics. When employed in industrial settings like warehouses and factories, robots can effectively and precisely perform repetitive tasks. However, robots deployed for personal robot applications have to carry out interactions and interpretations on a wide range of variables while providing humans with safety and convenience. 5D Robotics Behavior Engine (BE) allows the robot to traverse in a variety of environments and situations by reading data on its surroundings.
