Topcon PS Introduces New Professional-Grade Robotic Total Station

Topcon Positioning Systems (TPS) has unveiled the ‘PS series’, an innovative professional-grade robotic total station developed to have higher power, precision and potential than other robotic total stations existing on the market. Based onTopcon’s new PowerTrac technology, the PS enhances prism tracking power.

The PS uses a phase shift EDM having a comparatively smaller beam width. The Topcon algorithm gives precise result to surfaces over extended distances up to a 3,280 ft non-prism range, and minimizes the noise, which is common in reflectorless measurements. Topcon’s smaller beam width ensures efficient measurements in complex environments.

The PS series has been designed to have a rugged, waterproof as well as dustproof configuration. It also includes a sophisticated security and maintenance system such as TSshield, LongLink, and RC-5, which is an integrated remote system.

Topcon’s unique telematics-based multi-communications module, TSshield extends improved security and maintenance capabilities. In case a PS has been lost, it can be disabled by transmitting signal to the instrument. A cloud-based server signals the PS to alert the operator on new versions of firmware. TSshield enables the owner to constantly monitor the location of instrument on web-based map view.

The PS is ideally designed to support a broad range of applications like land surveying, building layout, construction stakeout, earthwork volumes, and even machine control LPS operation.

Supplementary features complementing PS series include USB flash drive port, IP65 dust and waterproof rating, large graphic and color touchscreen, automatic angle measurement calibration, and backlit keyboard for use in bright or low light;

PS series is being offered to the North American market in 1- and 3- arc second models.
