QUAN Targets New iPad-Controlled Robots for Autistic Kids

Quantum International investigates potential innovations for commercialization. Quantum envisions that Apple iPad-controlled new robots can bring improvement to the interaction capabilities of autistic children.

By collaborating with the Autism Center of Pittsburgh, Interbots will build Popchilla. This smart, cuddly robot has been designed to offer therapy for children with autism. Autistic kids communicate better with a non-human entity. Therefore, Popchilla can bring the autistic kids from a nut-shell, introducing them to the world outside.

The first phase of the therapy program features training. Expert therapists employ an iPad app for controlling the navigation of Popchilla and its interaction with autistic child. The therapists will finally encourage the child to control the robot’s iPad, benefiting from the uniquely-designed Popchilla for identification and better emotional expressions.

According to Quantum CEO Robert Federowicz, tablet technology drives robotic development, while Popchilla is a uniquely innovative creation that ensures bringing revolution in this dynamic scenario.

Quantum has started exploring potentially beneficial new robotics targets on a worldwide basis. Recently, Quantum signed a letter of intent and initiated due diligence toward a definitive contract with Poland-based Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements (PIAP). The company anticipates rapid growth by working with leading robotics companies such as Intuitive Surgical, Honda Motor, and AeroVironment.

Quantum International specializes in commercializing advanced automated technology. The firm intends to devise and deliver next0genration innovations in robotics so as to capitalize on the global demand for the speed, accuracy and cost-effectiveness provided by these technologies.
