Mazor Robotics declared that its Renaissance system has been procured by Florida Hospital for Children in Orlando, Florida. Renaissance is Mazor’s advanced robotic surgical guidance system effective for spine surgeries. This highly-featured platform is a unique robotic technology specifically developed for spine surgery.
Florida Hospital for Children is a well-established facility for pediatric medicine. It offers pediatric orthopedic practice that includes a wide variety of treatments and techniques. Also, deployment of minimally invasive surgery has also been included. The hospital is an affiliate of Florida Hospital having 22 campuses providing excellent medical services to communities across Florida.
Mazor’s Renaissance system has also been procured by two other hospitals within the Florida Hospital system viz., Celebration Health Hospital and Florida Hospital Carrollwood, besides being installed in Florida Hospital for Children. Florida Hospital is the United States’ first hospital network to have all three types of spine surgeons such as pediatric orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, and orthopedic surgeons. This system will contribute to achieve degenerative as well as deformity corrective surgeries.
Being Florida’s first pediatric orthopedic surgeon to include Renaissance system for performing scoliosis corrective surgery, Raymund Woo, MD of orthopedic surgery at Florida Hospital for Children, stated that the technology ensures highly-precise implant placements contributing to enhanced surgical outcomes.
According to the CEO of Mazor Robotics, Ori Hadomi, the company is honored to achieve this collaboration once more with Florida Hospital. With this partnership, more improved treatments can be offered for the patients. In addition to creating positive impact on pediatric scoliosis patients, the company anticipates providing Renaissance to other spine surgery specialists, thereby ensuring Florida Hospital patients with superior care.
