Scientists to Develop New Software for Accurate Robotic Navigation

An international group of scientists, headed by Mark Whitty of University of New South Wales, is working on a new software, which can enable the autonomous robots to move precisely and re-evaluate quickly.

It helps to avoid flaws in scanning and mapping by means of fragmenting the big maps into smaller portions. In addition to this, the software will facilitate the combined operation of several robots.

Mark Whitty has stated that they are focused on enhancing the precision of the movement of self-guided robots which can assist a blind person to move to the desired locations and the robot can come back to its starting point.
