Hansen Medical, an innovator of robotic technology for high-precision 3D control of catheter movement, recently declared that it will display its Magellan Robotic System from April 14 to 17, at the 34th Annual Charing Cross International Symposium in London.
In addition, Hansen Medical will showcase its NorthStar Robotic Catheter that can function along with the Magellan Robotic System for operation. The NorthStar Catheter has been created to improve catheter navigation and simplify therapeutic intervention in the peripheral vasculature. Both NorthStar Robotic Catheter and the Magellan Robotic System are CE marked and entitled for sales in Europe.
At this major international symposium, the Company will host product demonstrations as well as showcase the Magellan Robotic System and NorthStar Robotic Catheter.
Besides enabling easy navigation to anatomical targets in the peripheral vasculature, the NorthStar Robotic Catheter and Magellan Robotic System can act as a tool for manual placement of therapeutic devices.
Magellan Robotic System from Hansen Medical utilizes the flexible robotic technology that the Sensei-X Robotic Catheter System integrates. It has been implemented on more than 7,000 patients with cardiac arrhythmia and is being currently sold in the U.S. and Europe.
Features of the Magellan Robotic System include a versatile design that facilitates sufficient extension within the body to reach peripheral anatomy, which is normally hard to access; its multi-length catheter is compatible with most 6F treatment catheters; enables independent, individual robotic manipulation of standard guidewires; maintains open architecture characteristic of Sensei System for combined use with most 6F therapeutic devices.
