ReconRobotics provides micro-robot systems for defense and law enforcement. It recently declared that it has acquired systems engineering firm, Xollai.
As a recipient of the 2011 prestigious Architect of Defense award presented by the Minnesota-based Defense Alliance, Xollai has a strong foundation of intellectual property in optics-based autonomous control systems, automated guidance technology, and image processing and recognition.
According to the President and CEO of ReconRobotics, Alan Bignall, the company is more focused on its customers, in knowing their requirements and furnishing its customers with high-quality, simple and robust solutions. By strategically acquiring Xollai, ReconRobotics will have more access to novel technologies that can meet the challenges existing in current markets. In addition, new solutions in image processing, advanced manufacturing and unmanned aerial systems can be obtained. Xollai has excellent strength of engineering manpower, besides having a versatile intellectual property portfolio. The efficiency and potential of Xollai will perfectly blend with ReconRobotics’ objectives and goals to meet the technological leadership requirements and diversification challenges within autonomous systems.
The Co-Founder and CEO of Xollai, Robert Malecki said that ReconRobotics has developed and established an entirely new class of police and military robots within a short duration. ReconRobotics will totally incorporate Xollai in its design operations and product engineering by the end of April 2012. Xollai will continue to be based at Saint Paul, Minnesota, its HQ facility.
