KUKA Robotics’ KR QUANTEC K shelf-mounted robot array will make its first appearance in North America during the launch of the QUANTEC KR 120 R3900 Ultra.
With maximum power density and represented as the strongest shelf-mounted robot, the KR QUANTEC K ultra’s weight amounts to 270 kg, having a reach of 2900 mm and 120 kg of payload capacity. The newly launched KR QUANTEC shelf-mount robots generation features the KR QUANTEC K Prime shelf-mounted robot, having payload ranges from 90 to 210 kg and is ideal for all applications.
With 12% lighter configuration, the new KUKA QUANTEC K shelf-mounted robots ensure easy installation on injection molding machines. The QUANTEC K robots, having the new KR C4 controller and latest advanced drive technology, achieve 25% shorter unloading times. Their extremely low base enables greater downward reach, providing higher optimization efficiency towards the unloading of injection molding machines. The axis 2 of the new shelf-mounted robots is placed 400 mm anterior to the previous one. The working envelope therefore efficiently expands forwards and downwards. Having an identical flange and similar installation procedures, this system readily adapts with all predecessor models.
The other offering from KUKA Robotics to be displayed at NPE 2012 show includes its precision KR 60-3 HA in a simulated foam milling display; and ATI tool changer-assisted demonstration of plastic bottle handling and packaging cell by the IP-65 rated, highly-resistant KR 5, which is ideal for clean room situations and fast handing applications.
