Developed along with Ohio-based MIM Software, this new PlanTouch software simplifies the previous onsite operation involved in CyberKnife Robotic Radiosurgery System. It provides the physicians with flexibility, mobility, and convenience in order to offer high-quality patient care. The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has offered 510(k) clearance for PlanTouch.

CyberKnife System's data management and planning software fully integrates PlanTouch's interface. This software facilitates the reviewing of contours, images, isodose curves, and dose volume histograms and with the help of an iPad, the physicians will instantly approve their treatment plans. With excellent features, this innovative mobile solution strengthens communication between the radiation oncologist and referring physicians including neurosurgeons, urologists and thoracic surgeons. The workflow of physicians has now become simpler and efficient with the introduction of this remote-featured software. Besides being provided with review capability, the new PlanTouch software also enables approving a treatment plan, which makes it stand unique among the existing tablet-based radiation oncology applications.

Specifically designed for using on the iPad, Accuray's PlanTouch is compatible with all the advanced features of iPad. Moreover, the patient’s information is kept confidential, ensuring each patient with the right assessment and treatment approval. A software license upgrade is now available for CyberKnife Systems and the app can be downloaded using Apple App Store, thereby activating PlanTouch.
