ABB Robotics has unveiled the PalletPack 460, a specifically designed package made up of robotic palletizing components. It is characterized by the new IRB 460 robot that supports high-speed end-of-line palletizing. Integrated hardware with full documentation has been incorporated in this innovative configuration.

The overall project costs will be reduced and accelerate the engineering set-up process. It simplifies the designing of palletizing systems by integrators. In addition, end-user limitations are eliminated, thereby promoting the advantages of robotic palletizing automation.
This functional package that can be used either for high-speed bag palletizing or compact end-of-line case palletizing, encompasses:
- PalletWare support software and user documentation
- An IRB 460 palletizing robot.
- A Flex-Gripper end-of-arm tool
- A Jokab safety PLC and an ABB control PLC
- ABB FlexPendant with a user-friendly graphical HMI.
The IRB 460 is the major, central component of the PalletPack and is known as the market’s rapid palletizing robot. The 4-axis IRB 460 with 110-kg capacity can extend up to 2.4 m. Its compact footprint enables easy integration into existing packing lines. The programming wizard is another major feature of PalletPack. It provides traditional PLC-equivalent programming, thereby simplifying the procedure for PLC programmers.
Furthermore, the standard ABB Robotics HMI, FlexPendant facilitates efficient operation and programming. It includes a graphical interface with four user-friendly screens such as pallet pattern set-up, pallet and pick set-up, movement edition and path profile edition.
The new function package ensures flexible, rapid and affordable palletizing.
