Adept Technology, a supplier of autonomous mobile solutions and intelligent robots, declared that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with one of the Fortune Global 500 listed South Korean multinational manufacturer.
As per the MOU, Adept Technology and its sole dealer Han Shin Power Tech located in South Korea have been selected as global suppliers by the South Korean manufacturer to execute strategic operation for vision-guided robot controls, delta/parallel link and SCARA type robot products, and automated guided vehicles (AGV) and controls.
By implementing advanced robotics and automation technologies and solutions as a part of Adept’s operation, there will be advancements in the productivity and related services of the South Korean manufacturer, following the MOU.
According to the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Adept, John Boutsikaris, the company’s MOU with South Korean manufacturer, apart from being distinguished as its preferred supplier, also accentuates Adept’s ability to deliver advanced robotic solutions to improve quality, efficiency and productivity in its global manufacturing plants.
The CEO and President of Han Shin Power Tech, Eric Jin said that this MOU will promote the commercialization of innovative products and robotic solutions of Adept Technology. As a unique dealer of Adept, Han Shin Power Tech’s expertise in deploying the automation solutions for an extensive product manufacturing applications, will benefit the customers greatly. Furthermore, this agreement will provide access for expedite implementation of robots and AGVs in the worldwide factories of Han Shin Power Tech.
Until now, Adept has delivered six Viper 6-axis robots and four Cobra SCARA robots to the South Korean manufacturer. Furthermore, it will supply 13 Viper robots by the end of March 2012.
