Preferred Freezer has celebrated the inauguration of a new advanced temperature controlled warehouse in New Jersey. The newly set up facility is fully automated and houses equipment spanning more than 10 million cu.ft.
The facility enables precision automation and quick product transfer. The new facility is the most advanced of all the cooling automation warehouses in the United States. The warehouse was inaugurated on 14 November and the event was attended by as many as 300 cold chain partners, senior executives and business leaders.
During the inauguration event, the ability of curve going, rail guided robotic stacker cranes in handling pallet loads even in total darkness conditions were demonstrated. The robotic stacker handles two pallets per minute moving them from the loading dock to the freezer located at each high speed door. The automated ‘lights-out’ freezer is the third such system installed in the United States. Preferred Freezer was recognised as one of the Fastest Fifty Growing companies in New Jersey NJBiz, top business magazine in NJ. The storage systems from Preferred Freezer are aimed at improving the environment by reducing CO2 emissions, saving energy and enabling efficient usage of water.
