The order is recognized as revenue in the present and following fiscal quarter of 2012. The manufacturer is a Fortune 500 listed company and has several operations in Southeast Asia. With more than two decades of expertise in high-precision operation in standard as well as cleanroom configurations, the company will offer high-speed vision-guided robot systems for the consumer electronics industry.
According to the Managing Director of Asia operations for Adept Technology, Hai Chang, electronics manufacturers across Southeast Asia utilize Adept's robotics technology. The client’s assembly application entails fabrication of several complex components in fully-automated production lines. Adept Python cartesian robots acquire the precision components in compartmentalized trays, where the location of the components and characteristics on the target assemblies are achieved by Adept's proprietary on-board vision-guidance systems. The Adept Python linear modules are capable of precision up to +/-10 µ, operating with speeds up to 1450 mm/s to achieve the assembly operations.
