The collaboration accentuates on the short and long range drones and UAVs for defense and commercial markets. An industry research firm, Teal Group stated that the global expenditure on drones is estimated to increase two-fold in the next 10 years, growing up to $11.3 billion per year.

Through this joint venture, the core technology of ADTI integrates with that of Halberd, contributing to the development of affordable, next generation drone and UAV system. The payload system will employ ADTI’s subsystems, microwave or millimeter-wave circuits, and system designs such as T/R modules, electronically steered antennas (ESA), wideband phased array antenna designs, transceivers and wideband RF antenna systems. Halberds short and long-range Unmanned Aircraft and drone technology with advanced ultra light materials and excellent composite construction techniques will be employed by the aircraft systems. The versatile, mission specific drones and UAVs resulting from the combined operation of ADTI and Halberd will achieve various simple and complex applications.

According to the President and CEO of Advanced Defense Technologies, R.S. Tahim, ADTI will witness rapid progress in the production of mission specific drones within a specific period commercially, following the joint venture. A team including members from both companies has been established which is further being enhanced with the addition of eminent scientists and technology partners. This dynamic collaboration is being anticipated to facilitate the expansion of the system’s capabilities.
