Hollysys Automation Technologies Takes Over Thermal Power Automation with DCS System

Hollysys Automation Technologies has won three contracts from three different power corporations for supply of industrial distributed control systems (DCS) to the thermal power generating units.

An average of 6X660 MW of power will be generated by these thermal units. The delivery of the DCS for all three units is expected to be completed by the end of 2012.

The three contracts include 2X660MW ultra-supercritical thermal power generating units at the Yuejiang thermal power plant. The other units are 2X660MW units of Dianta thermal power plant and 2X660 MW units of GuizhouPanxian Thermal Power Plant. One of the DCS systems from Hollysys, HOLLiAS MACS Series is suited for a variety of industrial applications. HOLLiAS MACS-F and HOLLiAS MACS-S are the two kinds of DCS systems manufactured at Hollysys. The automation and control system at large thermal power plants include support systems for optimization, desulfurization, digital electric hydraulic control, apart from the core DCS system. It is a common practice to install these support systems along with the DCS system, hence Hollysys expects follow on orders along with the main DCS orders from these power plants. The CEO of Hollysys considered the wining of these contracts as a means of establishing a strong hold on the thermal automation industry in China.
