Warwick Chemicals has chosen the PlantPAx process automation system from Rockwell for replacing its distributed control system (DCS).
With the installation of the PlantPAx automation system, Warwick will be able to lower the operational costs and improve connectivity with third party systems. An electrical, control and instrument engineer at Warwick explained that their DCS system was a 17-year old system and by replacing it with the PlantPAx system, the productivity and operational performance is bound to increase.
The VP of Rockwell explained that the PlantPAx Automation solution provides a single integrated control platform, which is based on standard communication protocols. Some of the features offered by the PlantPAx system are maximum productivity, optimized flexibility and speed to market, reduction in implementation costs and adherence to regulatory compliance. With PlantPAx automation systems, the control and maintenance of the plant operations will be much easier for the engineering staff. Rockwell has worked on a number of DCS to PlantPAx migrations and hence has an established track record for such tasks. The automation solutions from Rockwell cater to a number of consumer-driven industries such as life sciences, home, personal care, chemicals, food beverages etc and heavy resource driven industries such as mining, oil and gas, metals, internal combustion and power generation.
