RobotShop Introduces MyRobots Portal for Monitoring and Controlling Robots

RobotShop has launched a new cloud computing service called MyRobots.

This portal is specifically designed for robot owners and builders to be able to connect to their internet-enabled robot monitor and control their status. It can be used for controlling smart objects as well.

All the robots that are Internet-enabled can be easily connected to MyRobots with the help of the open API. Those robots that are not internet-enabled can also be connected using ‘MyRobots Connect’, which is a physical device that allows serially communicating robots to connect to MyRobots. The portal will soon be featuring cloud-based robotic applications that can be downloaded. Developers will be able to sell their applications via the soon to be launched Robot App Store. All the information pertaining to the hardware is compatible and the communication API is available on the RobotShop website, robot owners and builders can make use of the same for developing applications.

The MyRobots platform can also be used by manufacturers and OEMs for enhancing their robotic products and serve their customers in a better way. Through this portal robot maintenance and trouble-shooting can be done online. MyRobots is opening doors to a variety of robotic applications that are used in the domestic, professional, educational and toys. RobotShop has chosen ThingSpeak as their data engine for use on the cloud robotics platform. Using this data engine, MyRobot is able to transmit, store and graphically visualise the data and also communicate with the robots and smart objects.
