Neste Oil and Metso have entered into an extensive frame deal for replacement deliveries and related services of safety and automation systems over the period between 2012 and 2016.
As per the deal, Neste Oil has issued its first order to replace its current systems at its refineries in Naantali and Porvoo with new safety and automation systems. Metso will deliver the systems in 2012. From then on, the installed base of Metso at Neste Oil’s refineries in Rotterdam, Singapore, Naantali and Porvoo will have 30 Metso safety systems and 20 automation systems in total.
In order to fulfill the needs of Neste Oil’s sophisticated refineries, Metso and Neste Oil have jointly designed unique automation applications during previous deliveries. This partnership will also continue for recent orders.
According to the contract, Metso will deliver three safety systems and three DNA automation systems as replacement for the existing systems in three process units of Neste Oil’s Porvoo refinery, which has more than forty such units. The refinery manufactures roughly 12.5 million tons of petroleum products annually from its four manufacturing lines.
At Neste Oil’s refinery in Naantali, Metso will install three new safety systems and modify existing Metso DNA systems in the refinery harbor and in the oil distillation process units. Traffic fuels and specialty products, including small engine gasoline, solvents and bitumen, are the major products of the Naantali refinery.
