Omnicell has renewed the agreement with Premier Healthcare for Medication and Supply Automation. Premier member hospitals and healthcare units will derive the benefits of the premium pricing on the medication and supply management solutions according to the renewed 36-month agreement.
The agreement aims at enhancing the operational and clinical performance of the members of Premier healthcare. The agreement is effective from July 2011 and is valid up to June 2014.
The medication and supply solutions that are offered as part of the contract are the G4 Platform, Savvy mobile medication system and PandoraVIA. The G4 platform is an effective solution for hospitals to monitor and manage the supply and medication inventory. By using this system hospitals will be able to reduce costs and adhere to strict safety standards thereby ensuring the safety of the patient. The platform is a single, consolidated database for the complete medication stock in the automated dispensing cabinets (ADC) of the hospital. The Savvy mobile medication system bridges the ADCs and the IT system of the hospital, using which the nurses are able to safely transport medications from the dispensing units to the bedside. Lastly, the PandoraVIA is a set of business analytics tools which help hospitals exercise control over the distribution of medicines throughout the hospital. The system helps in the control and optimization of distribution of medicines and prevention of drug diversion at the hospital.
The senior vice president of operations at Omnicell stated that they are able to assist a number of hospitals in providing safe, cost-effective and patient friendly technology through their automation solutions.
