Dot Hill Systems revealed their plans of displaying the 3000 series RAID storage solutions that adhere to the MIL SPEC 810G standards at the AUVSI’s Unmanned Systems North America 2012 conference.
The conference is scheduled to be held from August 16 to 19 at the Washington Convention Center. The conference is one of the largest in the world luring more than 6,500 attendees and over 450 exhibitors from all over the world. Current trends and technological advancements in unmanned systems would be discussed at the conference.
The RAID storage solutions series exhibit a high amount of tolerance to faults, are rugged and are widely available. These storage solutions provide images of very high resolution and datasets for UAVs and UAS platforms. The UAVs that are used in reconnaissance missions are equipped with advanced infrared sensor systems for capturing real time images and also determine the speed and position of moving targets. This data is transmitted from air vehicles to ground stations located at long distances for real-time tracking of long-range artillery, artillery munitions, missiles and rockets. The assured storage architecture in Dot Hill solutions provides unmatched flexibility and modularity with a maximum uptime. These features are particularly useful in extreme conditions such as in stealth manoeuvres. The Vice President of Sales at Chassis Plans regarded the storage systems form Dot Hill as an apt solution that provide ruggedness and high performance. Chassis Plans is a partner of Dot Hill and will be displaying their computing systems at AUVSI.
The Director of Sales at Dot Hill mentioned that their storage solutions were best suited for UAVs and mobile deployed ground station markets. He added that by partnering with Chassis they will be able to improve their capabilities in catering to more challenging specifications.
