Applied Manufacturing Technologies Launches Aggressive Hiring Program for Robotics

Applied Manufacturing Technologies (AMT) has announced its new aggressive hiring initiative called Robotic Renaissance. Through this initiative, the company intends to support the steady growth that the robotics industry has shown.

The program would concentrate on converting automation engineering talent into robotic careers. AMT is looking at a guaranteed growth in the robotic industry over the coming years with grants pouring in towards the National Robotics Initiative amounting to $70 million from the Advanced Manufacturing Partnership.

Mike Jacob, the President of AMT, is of the opinion that the future of robotics looks very promising than ever. He mentioned that they were planning to invest huge amounts for hiring fresh engineers and giving a kick start to their careers in the robotics and automation industry. He added that such initiatives would encourage more and more young people to take up automation technology degrees. Through the hiring initiative, AMT is planning to recruit around 40 engineers over the next 12 to 18 months.

In the initial stages of growth of the robotic industry, most of the applications were in the automotive manufacturing side. Robotics has now evolved into an industry with increased capabilities, low costs and increased ease of use. It throws the doors open to numerous opportunities for applications. Robotic applications have entered into the wind and solar energy industries, glass processing, food and beverage, chemical processes etc.
