Kiva Systems announced that it is associated with 12 out of the top 100 brands that were listed in the Internet Retailer’s Top 500 Guide. This list gives the list of business-to-consumer retailers in Canada and the U.S who are ranked according to their online sales.
Brand manufacturers, catalogers, web-only merchants, retail chains and digital content sellers are part of the list. Popularity of Kiva systems in the market is growing rapidly and both the old players and up-coming brands are opting for Kiva systems services.
Kiva has designed an innovative solution for warehouse automation, which employs fleets of robotic drive units that convey the inventory information directly to the workers. With the automation system, workers are able to access all the inventory items from anywhere and at all times. The need for waiting and walking of the operator is eliminated by using the system; this increases the overall productivity to almost four times when compared to the conventional systems. Kiva’s automation system is easy to install and it takes only a week to set up the entire system.
Kiva is planning to display the mobile-robotic solution at booth no 1925 at the Internet Retailer 2011 Conference and Exhibit, scheduled to be held from the 14th to the 17th of June. The activities lined up for the event are a live demonstration of the robotic fulfilment process, a presentation on the influences by the fast growing internet retailers in the market and finally declaring the names of the latest top 100 ecommerce companies that are turning to Kiva platforms.
