KUKA Roboter is unveiling the QUANTEC product series, which is an automation solution for the wood industry, at LIGNA 2011. Along with the QUANTEC products, KUKA will also introduce the KUKA WorkVisual software platform and the KR C4 robot controller.
The robots from KUKA are exclusively designed for tasks like assembling and machining. KUKA Roboter would occupy booth no C60 at the Hall 25, where it would be providing solutions to challenges in the industry, such as, palletizing, machining, gripping, machine tending and loading etc.
The QUANTEC robot series is capable of operating a complete high payload series from 90 to 300 kg and reach up to 3,100 mm. There are totally 15 robots in the QUANTEC series. The robot model can be selected based on the requirements of the motion profile. The KR C4 controller is based on a completely new, clearly designed and easily understandable architecture. The architecture incorporates a common database and infrastructure for all the integrated control modules. The modules communicate with each other through this database. The QUANTEC series from KUKA is capable of handling numerous functions that are carried out in the wood industry with its flexible, energy efficient and customized solutions. In the wood industry, the instances of machine-human interaction are many and KUKA robots ensure operator safety in all such interactions.
